| DISTRIBUTION Flowstone is a small, independent, monthly publication out of Eugene, Oregon. Our distribution spans the I-5 Corridor down to Ashland, and also off the beaten path in places like Cave Junction and Jacksonville. In our first year of publication we have received a warm welcome from all the communities we serve and look forward to extending our relationships with the wonderful people of this region. With that said...we need help. Flowstone covers a lot of miles and for the most part, there's just a few of us doing the leg work. In order to ensure our success we need volunteers. Can you help us get Flowstone to the communities that have come to love Flowstone and it's support of our global & local environment, economy and well-being. Currently we need help distributing in the following regions: Eugene Roseburg Jackson County Williams Area As Flowstone is a monthly publication, distribution only requires only a few hours once a month. We will gladly reimburse volunteers for gas money or provide advertising credits! We will simply inform you of the date that Flowstone will come off the presses (usually within the first week of each month) and depending on where you are, we will either FedEx the papers to you or you can pick them up. ADVERTISING SALES & NETWORKING We will be the first ones to tell you that selling anything is difficult. In these days of high speed Internet, glossy magazines and your general media frenzy, selling an affordable black & white ad can be interesting...for lack of a better word. Some people have the check written before you even realized you made a sale, others will wait until you've sufficiently become a fixture in their life before they trust you with their advertising dollar; others still will just never say YES. At Flowstone we try to take a unique approach to potential advertisers,preferring to depend more upon word of mouth rather than hard hitting sales techniques. We are willing to pay someone 30% of their sales! Let's face it, our rates are dirt cheap and it's not a gimmick. We believe in supporting the small, creative and unique businesses and organizations that are really the backbone of our communities;just as we hope they believe in us. It's about being of mutual support to each other. We ask that the next time you see your friend who just started a small business, tell them Flowstone is an affordable way to reach a lot of people over a large area. Give them a copy and you've just helped make Flowstone the true community paper that it strives to be. As much as we would love to pay people what they deserve for their time, we just aren't there yet! With your help though, we could be...
